The NGO has published updated guidance on Recording Cases and Reporting Data.

We have updated this guidance in response to feedback from Freedom to Speak Up Guardians – thank you to all the guardians who gave us feedback.

Freedom to Speak Up Guardians are required to record all cases of speaking up that are raised with them. Guardians are expected to share data about their cases with the NGO to inform the national understanding of how Freedom to Speak Up is being implemented and trends and themes in speaking up.

We have made the guidance clearer, more accessible and have taken into account the needs of the broader range of organisations that are now supported by Freedom to Speak Up Guardians.

We have also introduced a new category to record any case that includes an element of other inappropriate attitudes or behaviours that do not constitute bullying or harassment.

This guidance will come into effect for all cases received on or after 1 April 2022.

Please continue to follow the 2021-22 guidance for Q4 and reconciliation data submissions for 2021-22.
