The Freedom to Speak Up Guardian role is complex and the landscape in which you work is constantly evolving.
To support your learning and development and to ensure you are up to date with changes and updates, all Freedom to Speak Up guardians are required to complete Refresher Training annually.
Refresher Training e-learning for 2023 must be completed by 30 November 2023.
Please Note: If you registered as a new guardian in 2023, you do not need to complete Refresher Training until 2024.
The module is hosted by Me Learning which is the same platform provider as for last year’s e-Learning, so your current username and password for that platform are still valid.
For this year’s Refresher Training you will be asked to consider three case studies and share your personal reflections. Key considerations will help you make sure your learning is up to date. We anticipate it will take 1-hour to complete.

Once you’ve completed your refresher training, please make sure you update your training log on the Guardian Portal.
You can download your certificate by logging into your ME Learning account. Once downloaded, please refer to the Portal User Guide for instructions on how to upload your certificate to your training record.
Guardians who have not uploaded their certificates to their profile to show they have completed the training, may be removed from the directory as we cannot be assured that they have received the training needed for the role. Update your Guardian profile
We will contact you if you miss the 30 November deadline, to ensure you have the support you need to complete the elearning. If following this support offer you still fail to meet this requirement, we will notify CQC and NHSE. They may also write to your organisation to ensure you are getting the support you need to fulfil these requirements. Your details may also be removed from the NGO’s Find My Guardian page.
