Today (May 28th 2020) the National Guardian’s Office publishes three Regional Integration Plans for the North West, North East and Yorkshire, and South West of England.

These Regional Integration Plans support the development of a fully integrated approach to making speaking up business as usual across the patient pathway.

They set out a summary of current Freedom to Speak Up arrangements in these regions and how the NGO will increase the reach of Freedom to Speak Up into the primary care landscape. This includes how to enable new and existing Freedom to Speak Up guardians to support one another and join up cross-system working to improve speaking up cultures.

The plans describe how we will identify potential Freedom to Speak Up vanguards to demonstrate a range of models which can be applied across the sector. It also highlights how we will develop close working relationships with organisations as they move from the implementation stage to embedding the guardian role.
