Woman looking at speech bubbles

Freedom to Speak Up Guardians come from a wide range of professional backgrounds and bring with them a host of skills and competencies. The National Guardian’s Office provides training and support for you as you develop in your role.

The NGO holds regular webinars for guardians on topical issues to share learning and provoke discussion. Please check the fortnightly bulletin for details.

You will also find case studies here which share other organisations’ learning and may provide you with ideas for improvement.

We produce guidance documents to help you understand the practical elements of your role.

Guardian Education and Training Guide

The Guardian Education and Training Guide, produced by the NGO in partnership with Health Education England and the Leadership Academy, helps guardians self-assess against a competency framework with a view to achieving the highest levels across the board in what we consider to be a leadership journey.

The guide contains links to a wealth of resources which can help direct self-development where necessary and opportunities to transfer existing knowledge to other Freedom to Speak Up Guardians in your organisation, region or network.

Please contact us if you have any other suggestions for materials or webinar topics to support your development, or to share a case study.
